Leslie Burhoe hiking Little BigelowAs Executive Assistant, Leslie plays an essential role for the Executive Director, performing work ranging from various types of research to assisting with reports and other specific communications. She also provides clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, arranging meetings and phone calls, and much more. Leslie spent summers in Maine going back to 1968; she moved here permanently in 1977. She is an avid gardener and worked professionally as one for 18 years, mostly at private coastal homes. She returned to school later in life, graduating from the University of Maine in Augusta in 2007. She still enjoys gardening and helps organize a Farmer’s Market of local vendors in Wayne. She lives in Wayne with her partner, Chris, who owns a wooden boat restoration business, and spends the rest of her time with her two grown children and grandchildren. She loves hiking, cross-country skiing, kayaking, camping, sailing, and being outdoors in general.
