Colin Durrant, Media Relations and Advocacy Communications Director

Colin DurrantAs someone who has enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and exploring Maine his entire life, Colin is thankful to have the opportunity to collaborate directly with advocates to advance the work they do across the state to protect Maine’s environment. Colin has more than two decades of experience working as a communications strategist and storyteller in the nonprofit, government, and higher education sectors. He came to NRCM from Harvard University’s Office for Sustainability, where he served as Senior Communications Officer. He previously led communications efforts at MassDOT and the Conservation Law Foundation. Colin cut his teeth in advocacy right out of college when he worked in Oregon as a grassroots organizer with the Save our Wild Salmon Coalition to restore a free-flowing Snake River. He is a graduate of Tufts University and lives in Yarmouth with his wife, daughter, and young twin boys.
