Which Information Gets Collected NRCM is committed to Internet privacy; you can visit most areas of our website and other platforms without revealing any of your personal information. When you interact with an NRCM page or account, including on NRCM’s social media such as Facebook, we may collect personal information, defined as any information that can identify you as an individual: your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, credit card, billing, and/or contact information. Once received, we automatically create a user profile linked to that personal information. If the same personal information is provided in connection with future donations, actions, or activities on the Site, such actions will be added to that user profile. The following list includes the most common ways that you may directly provide your personal information to us.
Registration. You may choose to subscribe to NRCM e-newsletters, event invitations, and other NRCM mailing lists. Doing so may require you to enter your email address and certain other personal information. It is your responsibility to review and update your information at any time. If it’s your first time signing in, you will need to provide your email address at the log-in page so we can send you a password.
Action Network. To send a message to elected government officials and decision-makers using our online Action Network, you will need to identify yourself by name, address, email address, phone number or other personal information. This is necessary for your message to be effective; in addition, many government officials require it. NRCM may use this personal information to contact you with the latest issue alerts and updates. Please be aware that comments sent to federal agencies may be made available publicly, often via the web, and will sometimes include the full name and address of the person(s) submitting the comments.
Mobile Application. The NRCM mobile application, which a user can choose to download onto a mobile device, accesses the camera, location, and other features of the mobile device to provide photos for the photo gallery section of the Site. Only the image, geographic location (if provided), and author names are retained by the Site. Other information collected from the device is not recorded or used.
Mobile Messaging. NRCM may at some point in the future use mobile messaging, at which time you will have the opportunity to opt in so that you can be kept up to date on breaking news and the latest actions. You would do that by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Tell Your Friends.” We always hope that you will forward our action items, news, and other information. To do that, forward an article, you may be required to enter your name, email address, and the email address(es) of your intended recipient(s). Please note that NRCM includes your name and email address when we send your message.
Contests. NRCM occasional runs contests and raffles through our Site, accompanied by a set of rules, which are clear and state that we do publish winner names, and name, physical address, and email address are collected. This information is treated with the same privacy that we provide to our donors.
Communications Between You and NRCM. When you provide NRCM with your email address and mailing address, we may contact you to invite you to become a member of our organization. To choose not to receive these requests, please contact us at email@example.com. Note also that if you have chosen to receive any of our publications by email, you are able at any time to unsubscribe by clicking a link that appears in the email publication itself or by visiting our Unsubscribe page.
Open Rates, Click-throughs, IP Addresses. NRCM tracks email open rates, click-throughs, and the IP address of Site users to measure the success of communications and to and discourage fraudulent uses.
Web Beacons. These allow us to track the when and how many times visitors access particular parts of the Site. NRCM may use web beacons so that we can compile aggregated statistics relating to Site operations. We prohibit web beacons on our Site from being used by third parties to collect or access your personal information.
Analytics and Online Advertising. NRCM uses Google Analytics to track a wide range of behavioral data regarding our Site, including social media. We may at some point opt to use Google’s Interest-based advertising or third-party audience data (such as news media) to gain insights into our website visitation and so that we can adjust ad campaign strategies. In addition to Google Analytics, NRCM also uses Deep Log Analyzer so that we can further refine data gathered through the Site.
Opting Out of Google Analytics. Please note that you can modify your Ads Settings or download this browser extension to opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and any associated advertising placement and tracking features. It is your responsibility to learn about how Google Analytics may use your data; to do so, review its policy entitled “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps” located at this link.
Use/Sharing of Your Information. Your right to privacy is important to us. NRCM does not sell, exchange, or otherwise share your email address or telephone number with any other organization. NRCM may sell or exchange names and mailing information with a like-minded group. In each instance, the list is provided for a one-time use and is sent directly to a mailing house, not the organization. NRCM members may opt out of this or similar rentals/exchanges by contacting Member Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or (800) 287-2345. You also may mail your instructions to: Member Services, NRCM, 3 Wade St., Augusta, ME 04330. NRCM will only release your personal information if required by law, such as to comply with a court order or subpoena.

Employment. If you are seeking employment with NRCM, you may decide to submit, through our Site or otherwise, personal information (including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and other personal information requested on our online and offline forms, as well as an electronic or paper copy of your resume/CV). Information submitted to us for such a purpose is considered strictly private; it will be viewed by NRCM only to determine your qualifications as a prospective employee.
Other Websites. NRCM does sometimes link to outside websites. Should you decide to visit any of these unaffiliated websites linked to or from the NRCM Site (including news sites Twitter, Facebook, or other social media sites), you are subject to that entity’s own privacy policies. NRCM has no input or control over those sites, and we do not monitor them. It is your responsibility to review the privacy policies of all third-party websites before you visit them. NRCM is careful about sites we link to from our Site; however, we cannot necessarily review all of the sites linked to our Site. We make no representations or warranties as to the privacy practices or content of any sites linked to this Site.
California Privacy Rights. NRCM does not track its users over time and across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising; therefore, we do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
