Decisions made in Washington, D.C., have lasting effects on Maine’s clean air and water, our thriving forests and wildlife, and on the health of Maine people, our economy, and our way of life. The Natural Resources Council of Maine identifies and addresses the issues at play in our nation’s capital that will have the largest impacts here at home.
NRCM is mobilizing our members and supporters to encourage the federal government to take ambitious action to strengthen our economy, create millions of new jobs, and protect our health by reducing carbon pollution, conserving outdoor spaces, investing in renewable energy and weatherization, and advancing cleaner, healthier transportation options.

We also work closely with Maine’s Congressional delegation to advance legislation and policies that will accelerate a clean energy future and protect the nature of Maine. In the last few years, NRCM has worked with our partners to pass the Great American Outdoors Act and oppose the Trump Administration’s harmful environmental rollbacks.
