One of Maine’s largest environmental groups is seeking to revoke Plum Creek Timber Company’s national green certification under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. The Natural Resources Council of Maine’s action marks one of only three times that a timber company’s certification has been officially challenged, and no company has ever before lost certification because of a complaint.
