NRCM news release
The Natural Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) is pleased to once again offer grants for educators who work with Maine middle school students so that they can learn more about Maine’s environment and the value of protecting it.
Last year was our first year of this program and it was very successful – awarding grants to eight programs that allowed classrooms and community groups of students to start a recycling program at their school, monitor the return of alewives to their community, improve bird habitat, and more.
NRCM is again offering eight $500 grants for projects in classrooms or clubs of middle school-aged kids. These grants are intended to support creativity and allow flexibility. Last year, our grants made it possible for teachers and club leaders to purchase field equipment like waders and binoculars and paid for transportation to study sites.
