Show your support for restoring the Kennebec River by attending one or both upcoming Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) public meetings in Waterville and Augusta on May 21st and 22nd. (Scroll to bottom of page for information about both hearings.)

Paddle the Sandy with NRCM!

Join NRCM staff for a paddle with Atlantic Salmon Federation’s Jeff Reardon to explore why the Sandy is vital for the recovery of Atlantic salmon and other sea-run fish.
This 11-mile paddle begins in Strong and ends in the Fairbanks area of Farmington. We will have a shuttle and a limited number of canoes, kayaks, & PFDs.
Please bring your own lunch, snacks, and plenty of water! Registration is limited to 20.

There will be a Registered Maine Guide, Richard Behr, accompanying us on this paddling trip, where you can learn more about the Kennebec River, including its diversity of wildlife and current river restoration opportunities.
Registration is limited to 25, and cost is $20 per person. This trip is suitable for beginner paddlers.
Please bring your own canoe or kayak, PFD, sun protection, lunch, snacks, and plenty of water!
