Longtime NRCM member and My Maine This Week contributor Linda Woods of Waterville, Maine, shared some of her photos from earlier this summer with us. So, as we end summer and head into fall this week, please enjoy these photos that Linda took during a four-day birthday celebration, which included three hikes in three days!
Happy belated birthday, Linda. We hope these photos help the birthday celebration last just a *little* bit longer!

“Rumford Whitecap never disappoints. Add plentiful blueberries to 360 views for an ideal day!”

“Long Mountain (in Albany–outside of Bethel) is a pleasant walk beside a stream in the woods. Various lookouts provide scenic views of the Presidentials. Seeing Hidden Falls is an added bonus.”

“Speck Pond (access on the New Hampshire side of Old Speck Mountain and part of the Grafton Loop Trail) is Maine’s highest body of water. When I lived nearby, I went here often. I wanted to spend my last day of being 70 climbing up to see this hidden gem. (Most likely to say good-bye as I doubt I’ll get there again. Nine miles straight up both ways is longer than it used to be.)”
