On October 16, 2009, staff from NRCM’s Clean Energy Project attended the grand opening celebration for the Kibby wind power project. Half of this 132 MW project became operational on the 16th, while construction on the remaining 22 turbines will continue into next spring. Once the entire project is operating, it will be the largest wind power project in New England, producing more than 357 million kilowatt hours of clean, renewable energy per year – enough to power the equivalent of about 50,000 Maine homes. Watch this short video for some shots of the operating turbines!
