This week’s featured photograph, Wildlife in the Marsh, is by NRCM supporter David Silva of Holden, Maine.
David writes, “You never know, sometimes after a wildlife photo, what you might see. While practicing with my camera in a marsh area, I noticed from about 200 yards away what I initially thought was a doe. To my surprise, it turned out to be a buck with velvet around his antlers. He’s eating a pond leaf of some sort, too. In addition to my unknowing, two river otters unexpectedly made an appearance at the scene. I wasn’t aware of any of this until I examined the enlarged photo. The photo was taken in the Holden, Maine area, cropped and straightened. The original digital image is in the first comment.” Sony RX 10 IV 600 mm. 7/1/2025
David’s photo epitomizes “being in the right place at the right time!” Incredible!
