Hundreds of Maine businesses have offered their support for federal actions to address climate change. They are specifically supporting the EPA’s new Clean Power Plan, the first ever national limits on the power plant carbon emissions that cause climate change, and they are telling Maine’s U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King to support it, too. Maine support climate action because our economy and our way of life are so closely linked to the health of our environment, from farming to fishing to tourism. They also support climate action because climate solutions are also sensible clean energy solutions that can lower energy bills and create jobs while lowering pollution. Maine has already taken major action to cut power plant carbon emissions in the form of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Now it’s time for the rest of the country to take action, too.
