Do you wish your heating bills were just a little bit lower and your home just a little bit more comfortable? Have you thought about making your home more energy efficient but aren’t sure where to start? Would you like to save money while reducing oil dependence and air pollution?
The Natural Resources Council of Maine, the City of Ellsworth, and the Ellsworth Green Plan have launched an initiative called Weatherize Ellsworth to provide information and save you money on home improvements that save energy. Weatherize Ellsworth can help you and your neighbors make your homes more efficient, and you’re invited to our kick-off event!
On Wednesday, May 9 at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth this group, along with a local contractor and the folks from Efficiency Maine, invited residents to attend an event to learn more.
WHAT: Weatherize Ellsworth Kick-Off Event. People had a chance to talk with NRCM staff, a local contractor who’ll be weatherizing homes, Ellsworth Green Plan committee members, and staff members from Efficiency Maine, which offers significant rebates for home energy efficiency improvements. They learned more about Weatherize Ellsworth and what home energy savings projects makes sense for them and their homes!
WHEN: Wednesday, May 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Moore Community Center Auditorium. 133 State Street, Ellsworth, ME 04605
WHY: Most of us want to make our homes more energy efficient, whether it’s to make them more comfortable, to save money on heating costs, or to reduce oil dependence and pollution. A community-based project, like Weatherize Ellsworth, connects Ellsworth-area residents to available rebates and selects a qualified contractor who offers a discount to participants in the group initiative. In short—Weatherize Ellsworth reduces barriers and makes it easier to increase your energy efficiency!
