Thanks to everyone who joined us on Thursday, July 19 at the Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor to hear from NRCM Advocacy Director Pete Didisheim as he spoke about “Protecting Maine’s Environment: Defense, Progress, & Plans.” Pete’s talk covered the interdependence of the economy and Maine’s environment and the powerful impact of citizen activism on the Maine landscape. He touched on current environmental debates at the national, state, and local levels, and NRCM’s plans for moving forward in Maine to address climate change, shoreland and lake protection, fisheries restoration, and conservation of our forests and wildlife.
This was part of the Claremont Hotel Summer Lecture Series, at the Claremont Hotel, 22 Claremont Road, Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island. This event was free and open to the public. Refreshments were served after the lecture.
