Twenty years ago, NRCM played a critical role in removing the Edwards Dam from the Kennebec River in Augusta. Since then, native fish and birds have returned in record numbers. It’s high time that we paddle it to celebrate! We joined with the Penobscot Paddle & Chowder Society on Saturday, August 10 for a 10-mile flat-water paddle from the Sidney boat launch to Mill Park in Augusta.
We met at the Sidney boat launch at 10:00 a.m.long voyager canoes that fit 10 people in each.
The paddle was led by Allan Fuller of the Penobscot Paddle & Chowder Society.
This paddle was great for all abilities and all ages.
This event was co-sponsored by the Natural Resources Council of Maine and the Penobscot Paddle & Chowder Society
