With hurricanes pummeling the Caribbean, wildfires raging in Northern California, and Maine on pace for the warmest October on record, it is clear that climate change is happening now. As we all take action in our own lives to minimize our impact and educate our friends and family, it’s important that we are equipped with up to date climate facts and data.
Thanks to all of you who joined the Natural Resources Council of Maine for a free screening of Al Gore’s new climate change film, “An Inconvenient Sequel,” at the Portland Public Library’s Rines Auditorium, 5 Monument Square, Portland. The movie played to a sold-out crowd!
Before the film screening, we participated in a live, online webcast session with Al Gore himself! A decade after An Inconvenient Truth brought the climate crisis into the heart of popular culture comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Former Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant — as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
