Conservation Celebration with Congresswoman Pingree
Thanks to all who joined us us on Monday, September 16 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Hidden Cove Brewery in Wells to thank Congresswoman Pingree for her leadership in support of the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund has conserved land and created outdoor recreation opportunities in every county across the country – including iconic public lands in Maine like Acadia National Park, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge, and Sebago Lake. Despite this, the program has been chronically underfunded, and has only received its full funding amount twice in its 54-year history. Congresswoman Pingree has been a tireless advocate for the program and has paved the way for a bill to ensure permanent, full funding. This was a great opportunity to thank her for her support!
