Bangor Earth Day Soirée
Monday, April 22, 2019
6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Bangor Public Library – Atrium – 145 Harlow Street in Bangor
More than 70 people celebrated Earth Day with NRCM, NRCM Rising, Bangor Greendrinks, and the Bangor Land Trust! It was a great evening of networking and environmental advocacy.
After networking over beer, wine, and light hors d’oeuvres, guests learned about local sustainability efforts underway in Greater Bangor, key environmental policies being considered at the State House in Augusta, and how to get involved. We invited state legislators and local elected officials from Greater Bangor to join us. The event was free.
Attendees heard from local leaders about efforts underway to bring more clean energy to Greater Bangor, clean up the Penobscot River, conserve land in Penobscot County, and reduce single-use plastic waste. Then they heard from NRCM policy advocates about bills being considered at the State House in Augusta that would assist these local efforts. The event took place on Earth Day at the beautiful Bangor Public Library Atrium located at 145 Harlow Street in Bangor.
