Join us for a paddle on the Penobscot!
NRCM has worked on Penobscot River restoration efforts for the past 20 years! It’s high time that we paddle it. We are joining with the Penobscot Paddle & Chowder Society on Saturday, August 24th for a flatwater paddle from the Penobscot Salmon Club in Brewer (on North Main Street across from Eastern Maine Medical Center) to the Hampden Marina.
Meet us at the Penobscot Salmon Club at 11:00 a.m. You are welcome to bring your own boat or hop aboard one of eight 24-foot-long voyager canoes that fit 10 people in each.
The trip is about 3.5 hours and we will stop to picnic along the way. Bring your lunch, water, binoculars, and PFD (personal flotation device)!
The paddle will be led by Allan Fuller of the Penobscot Paddle & Chowder Society.
This paddle is great for all abilities and all ages. Bring the kids, bring the grandkids, or come solo! All are welcome.
This event is free and open to the public, but for planning purposes we ask that you RSVP below.
