With the elections behind us, we can think ahead to what will happen at Maine’s State House in 2023, which can have a huge impact on our air, water, wildlife, and communities.
Mainers like you and me have a lot of power to influence which laws are passed (and which are prevented) to protect Maine’s environment, but the process can sometimes be hard to follow.
That’s why we launched an online training series for our supporters to build your skills and give you the resources to be an effective voice for change.
Thanks to all who joined us for:
Session 1: Intro to the State House
December 1, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
What happens in Augusta? Learn how to track bills on issues you care about, when it’s best for you and your neighbors to weigh in, who your legislator is, and how to influence them.
Session 2: Making Your Voice Heard
December 15, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Learn how to most effectively communicate with your lawmakers and other decision-makers—whether it’s testimony, letters to the editor, lobby meetings, or other ways.
Session 3: Building People Power
January 5, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
To pass new laws, we need more people to get involved. Learn how to talk to your family and friends about issues you care about.
Session 4: Current Priorities and Taking Action
February 2, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
As the legislative session kicks off, learn about NRCM’s current priorities and the best ways to be involved.
If you complete all four training sessions, you’ll receive a special NRCM gift and be recognized at our annual State House Action Day at a luncheon with our Advocacy Director Pete Didisheim.
