NRCM supporter Candace Dean of Augusta shares her photo of a phenomenon that many of us have seen at dusk this time of year — dozens and sometimes even hundreds of crows flying overhead and congregating in trees. It is called roosting. You can read more about it in this Maine Public story from a few years ago: https://www.mainepublic.org/environment-and-outdoors/2019-03-07/birds-of-a-feather-why-crows-congregate-in-winter
We have had crows roosting near our Augusta office or overhead as I have driven home over the years. Have you seen them at night as you are driving around Maine?
Thank you for capturing and sharing this photo, Candace!
Happy New Year!
