Protecting Maine’s environment starts with people who care and give. There are many ways to support NRCM’s work. We’ll help you find an approach that fits your financial goals and strengthens lasting protections for Maine’s environment.
Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about.
DAFs can be easily set up through a community foundation or your financial institution to serve as a flexible charitable giving vehicle. Please contact your local community foundation or financial advisor for specific advice on establishing a DAF.
If you have a donor-advised fund with Maine Community Foundation, you can recommend a grant to NRCM through their Fund Connection.
If you already have a DAF through an organization that participates in DAF Direct, you can donate directly to NRCM using the form on this page. NRCM’s federal tax ID number is 01-0270690.
Give Stock
Gifts of appreciated stock, bonds, or mutual funds are a simple and tax-efficient way to support NRCM’s work protecting Maine’s environment.
These gifts may allow you to take a charitable income tax deduction while avoiding capital gains taxes, helping protect the forests, waters, wildlife, and natural places that make Maine special.
If you plan to make a gift of stock, please contact us in advance so we can help ensure your gift is processed and acknowledged promptly. We also encourage your broker to include your name in the transfer notes whenever possible.
Please note that contacting NRCM does not initiate the transfer of stock. You will still need to complete the transfer through your broker.

Give Through Your Workplace
Workplace giving is a simple way to support NRCM through payroll deductions, where even small contributions add up to steady, meaningful support for Maine’s environment throughout the year.
NRCM accepts workplace giving contributions through MaineShare, the Maine State Employees Combined Charitable Appeal (MSECCA), the Combined Federal Campaign, and local United Way campaigns.
Many employers already participate. If yours does, you may be able to enroll today. If one is not available, you can help bring MaineShare’s workplace giving program to your organization. Sometimes it starts with a single employee expressing interest.
