Love Maine? We Do, Too
Maine is defined by its beauty and remote outdoor spaces, with miles of rocky coastline, deep forests, clear waters, and quiet moments found far from the road. From paddling a backcountry lake to hiking a familiar trail, these places shape how we explore and connect with our home. Explore Maine celebrates what makes this state so special and the work that helps protect these landscapes for everyone to enjoy.

Know of an accessible trail we should include? Let us know about it at nrcm@nrcm.org.

Publications & Stories
Protecting Maine starts with understanding it. NRCM makes clear, reliable information available on the issues facing Maine’s environment and the people who depend on it. Find stories and copies of our Maine Environment newsletter as well as our annual Explore Maine publication. From reports to guides to the stories of Mainers themselves, our publications help you understand what’s at stake and how you can help.

My Maine This Week
Each week we highlight photos of Maine’s nature, landscapes, and wildlife — all taken by people like you who love our state and all that it has to offer. Do you you have a photo to share? Send it, along with a description of where it was taken, and you could be our next featured photographer!

Conservation Leadership Awards
Each year, we recognize individuals and groups whose passion and perseverance has helped to protect Maine’s natural places and inspire others to do the same with our Conservation Leadership Awards, including our People’s Choice Award. From grassroots advocates to community changemakers, these awards honor the impact of people who care deeply for Maine’s environment.
