He closely tracks metrics and is a self-proclaimed “map nerd.” He puts his interest in photography to good use, and helps with the website. Levi comes to NRCM “from away”—Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he served as Digital Communications Manager for a nonprofit animal welfare organization and wildlife center for nine years. Favorite Quotes:

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

“To stand at the edge of the sea, to sense the ebb and flow of the tides, to feel the breath of a mist moving over a great salt marsh, to watch the flight of shore birds that have swept up and down the surf lines of the continents for untold thousands of years, to see the running of the old eels and the young shad to the sea, is to have knowledge of things that are as nearly eternal as any earthly life can be.” -Rachel Carson

Why I Do This Work

"I grew up in the Appalachian Mountains and witnessed firsthand the devastation that dirty industry caused to the land, waters, and the wildlife who called them home. From an early age, my parents taught me to appreciate my surroundings, to live minimally, and to respect the animals we live amongst. It's an honor to use my professional talents to support those values."
