Dip and Dash in its 6th year
by Jim Keithley
PORTLAND, Maine —The Natural Resources Council of Maine hosted its sixth annual Dip and Dash at East End Beach in Portland.
It is a New Year’s Eve tradition, said Lisa Pohlmann, NRCM executive director.
Pohlmann said 150 people registered for the polar dip event.
With the air temperature in the single digits, the ocean water is warmer at 42 degrees.
Runners made their way around a slippery Back Cove to end at East End Beach where some people took part in both the 5K and the polar dip.
