NRCM Advocacy Director Pete Didisheim on August 5th joined with other environmental, medical, and public health advocates to call for action on climate and clean energy. The press conference was held atop Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, where ozone pollution is a common problem due to pollution from upwind power plants. Although it was a foggy day, the event was held as new data shows that the earth has experienced the hottest six months on record, dating back to 1880. Speakers in this video are Pete Didisheim, Emily Figdor of Environment Maine, and Maroulla Gleaton on behalf of the Maine Medical Association. The event also had representatives of Friends of Acadia, Physicians for Social Responsibility, the Island Explorer, and MDI Hospital.
