Check out the Maine Seafood Guide by Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI). They have compiled a monthly list of what is in season from Maine’s fisheries. Understanding, and abiding by, the seasonal nature of our food supply is critical to reducing the average distance our food travels from its source to our plates – a distance that now averages more than 1,500 miles!
