Anya Fletcher

Federal Policy Advocate
Anya leads NRCM’s efforts to influence federal policies and proposals related to climate, clean energy, wildlife, and public lands that affect Maine’s environment and people. She coordinates the organization’s federal work with state and national partners and communicates regularly with members of Maine’s Congressional delegation. Anya got her start in advocacy and organizing with Green Corps, where she led environmental campaigns in multiple cities around the country. Prior to joining NRCM, she worked as the state director of Environment Maine. Anya holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. She enjoys backpacking in the mountains, strolling Maine’s beaches (in any season!), and birding in her own backyard. Anya lives in Westbrook.

In return, we need to do everything we can to protect it. I do this work not only to ensure that future generations can experience the beauty and joy of nature, but for the sake of the environment itself.”
