Senior Director of Communications
As NRCM’s communications lead, Allison works closely with her team and across the organization to develop and implement strategies that inspire our members and the public into action. In addition to production of signature materials, special reports, and publications, she is responsible for NRCM’s website, social platforms, and other areas of communication. As a Senior Leadership Team member, she helps determine best practices that inform organizational policies. Before returning to her state, she was Communications and Media Relations Director at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (CLO), where her work also included brokering multi-million-dollar licensing deals around CLO’s wildlife recordings. She received her BA from the University of Maine at Farmington and her Master of Fine Arts from Cornell University. She serves as our rep on the Maine Freedom of Information Coalition. Allison and her husband Jeff are coauthors of the books Maine’s Favorite Birds (Down East Books) and Birds of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao: a Site and Field Guide (Cornell University Press), and write a weekly birding column for the Boothbay Register. She lives in Gardiner with her family, their dog, and two bird-watching indoor cats.
