Sarah Short

NRCM Board of Directors

Sarah has been a member of the Natural Resources Council of Maine since moving to Maine more than a decade ago and served on its board from 2015 to 2022. She is especially passionate about advancing practical solutions to climate change and supporting broader environmental protections across the state. Sarah has worked in fundraising and advancement roles with the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Mitchell Institute, Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, and Portland Public Schools. She holds a B.A. from Amherst College and an MBA in nonprofit management from Yale School of Management. Sarah has long maintained a connection to Maine’s coast, spending summers on Mount Desert Island, and now lives full-time in Portland with her teenage daughter.
