Energy efficiency should be Maine’s top energy priority because it lowers energy costs, reduces pollution, strengthens our economy, and helps decrease Maine’s dependence on imported fossil fuels. It is the lowest cost energy resource available. The economic and business case for energy efficiency couldn’t be stronger (see resources at right).
But nothing makes the business case for energy efficiency more than Maine businesses themselves. More than 360 Maine businesses already have signed a letter calling on the Maine Legislature to make energy efficiency a top priority; companies like SAPPI Paper, Formtek Manufacturing, Lyman Morse Boatbuilders, Jackson Labs, and Mechanical Services.
